The Christian Marriage

A Christian marriage is the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual union of a man and woman that is so intimate that the two become one flesh. The Christian marriage provides a witness to the world as to how a husband and wife are to function within marriage so that the relationship is a harmonious one abounding in mutual love and respect where in the needs and desires of both are met. The Christian marriage also provides a living picture of the relationship between the church and Christ. Because the marriage relationship serves as a witness in these areas, conforming their relationship to God’s will concerning marriage cannot be underestimated and must be the goal of every married Christian couple. This is especially true in this day and age of broken families. It is time for those of us who are Christians to abandon ourselves and the beliefs of our culture and yield ourselves to the will of God that He will be glorified and others will see the fruits of righteous living and come to know Him as the answer for all that ails our society.
